Here they are! Our long awaited, guaranteed to be delivered before Christmas settees! I think they are fabulous and they are great for lounging on and possibly falling asleep on. They are soooo comfy! I have nominated the 2 seater as mine, so I can be nosey and look through the window and Rob has the 3 seater because he's not as nosey as I am and because he's all of about 1" longer than me. Ha ha ha.

30.01.07 The Bathroom
Rob has finished the false ceiling for the bathroom complete with lights and a fan light. The PIR is now working in the bathroom and it switches the lights and fan on at the same time. It's clever.
Thankfully, Rob has altered the timer in the main bathroom so I no longer have to sit on the toilet waving my arms because the light has gone off!

28.01.07 Busy Week
This week should see some new changes to our house. Unfortunately, the bits and pieces that we've been doing are not all worthy of pictures. We have been filling holes, sanding down, painting and getting the bathroom and en suite ready for the plasterer to come on Tuesday.
I have been busy looking for bedding, curtain poles and pricing up tiles. Non of which you can take pictures of.
I have however, finished the top floor back bedroom and once the room is clear of bits then I will take pictures. The front bedroom has been re painted but I can't decide on what colour the gloss should be. It appears that no-one makes the colour that I'm after. I've tried 5 different glosses so far!
The settees come on Wednesday, the settees that were guaranteed before Christmas! I guess that they never said which Christmas!

19.01.07 In General
The settees that we ordered in November which was guaranteed to be delivered by Christmas are coming into the warehouse on the 23rd January! This means that we need a carpet. We have ordered the dark brown carpet for the living room. The stair carpet will also be dark brown but the bedroom's will be in the lighter brown colour.
Hopefully, Phil will fit the carpet on Monday. Once the carpet is laid and the settee is in it will be properly like home. We will wrap up the door once the settee is in so that the room doesnt get covered in dust. I just hope that the settee will fit through the door!

14.01.07 The Bathroom
Rob has fitted the lights in the bathroom today. If you look at the left hand side of the picture you will see a round white sensor. This is the PIR system which will automatically switch the lights on in the bathroom as soon as you walk in. It's quite magic! The bathroom is now ready for plastering and then I can start tiling.

13.01.07 The Condensing Heater & Storage Tank
This is the beast that warms our house and heats the water. It's a condensing boiler than runs on mains pressure but without the need for header tanks. The storage tank is stainless steel with a baffle system inside. The advantage is that it gives instant hot water at mains pressure rather than having to wait for a combi boiler to heat the water which may take 2-3 minutes. So it's cost effective in the long run as they are both A rated appliances.
It's properly wired up and now we can use the system on a timer. Which is on the wall on the second hallway.

11.01.07 Deeds
Today we got the title deeds from the solicitor...8 months later! The dates start from 1916. The previous owners are as follows:
In 1916 George Youdan died and passed the property to James Thomas Everitt Baldwin and Edward Townsend Page who sold the property to Frederick Linley Womack for £1,900.
Frederick Linley Womack died in 1951 and then later his wife Rebecca died in 1954 and the house was passed to his daughter Freda Linley Womack.
Freda married in 1956 and sold the property for £1075 in 1961 to Alfred Edward Allenbone and Edith Elizabeth Allenbone.
Edith died in 1977 and Alfred died in 1981. The house was inherited by Joan Margaret White and Frank White.
They sold the house to Joan Briggs in 1981 for £19000.
Who then sold the house to us, for £159,950 because the house prices had risen! Which is quite amusing because it needed a huge amount of work doing to it! But that's the joy of living in Bawtry!

04.01.07 The Air Conditioning
The air conditioning/heating system is now installed! One of the pictures show part of the unit fixed within the internal valley on the roof. This was installed at the beginning of October.
The back of the unit is on another picture. When the out pipe was installed through the external brick, it split one of the mock wooden window frames on the side of the house. Hopefully, this can be fixed. The other pictures are of the unit itself.
Having the air conditioning installed now means that the en suite can be plastered, tiled and have all the ceramics fixed into it.
